About The Boat Shed

The Boat Shed offers a fantastic array of boats and engines to choose from. Whether you love to cruise the waterways, fish the flats or head offshore to the blue water, we have the expertise to keep you having fun year after year.

In 1950, W.T. "Buster" Bellune began the area's premier boating service that would soon be known as "The Boat Shed". In 1957, he began selling outboard motors out of the filling station he operated in Georgetown. This room off the side of the filling station then became officially established as "The Boat Shed". As the boat and motor business began to grow, Buster moved to the foot of St. James Street in 1966 to concentrate on selling and servicing motors.

In 1968, Buster's son Billy came to work at The Boat Shed and ran the business from 1987 until 2003. He built the dry storage building in 1987 and continued selling boats and motors and running the marina during this time.

The Boat Shed Build

The Boat Shed is now run by Buster's grandson, Tom Bellune who began working for the family business when he was a teenager. Due to the demand in boat sales and service, Tom moved The Boat Shed to its current location at 211 Church Street. There, we sell Pioneer, ScoutSeaArk, and Bulls Bay boats and service Yamaha motors. We also manage a nearby location of 4 acres of self-serve boat storage.
